Green Shirt Guy
Sometimes, when I work out on the elliptical machine, I keep it interesting by picking a runner to use as a timer. Today I would "sprint" for the amount of time it took green shirt guy to run one lap around the gym. This is a good way to keep my mind off of the time. Since I can only see half the gym from my machine, it adds some suspense. The only problem is: what if green shirt guy decides to go home? I would be hanging on for dear life. "Come on, green shirt guy! You're killing me."
The last "sprint" today was loooong. Green shirt guy decided to start walking to cool down. I just about went crazy, but I felt good afterwards.

not a great week for me
not a great week for me:
I actually gained .06% this week, but I am still down 2.56% from the beginning. I have some catching up to do.
Percent of original weight: 97.44%

It is way too expensive for me, but it sounds interesting.

Healthy Eating
It seems that this time of year everyone wants to eat healthy.
The dogs got into the oatmeal yesterday and skipped the high-fat crackers.
They started with the regular pasta. I think that they stopped when they realized that it wasn't whole wheat.

Souped-up Green Beans
1/2 pound fresh green beans
1/4 cup finely chopped onions
1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 cup liquid reserved from the beans
1 tablespoon salt-free chicken bouillon granules
1/2 teaspoon butter-flavored granules
1 tablespoon finely chopped green onions
1 teaspoon dried basil leaves, crushed
Pam cooking spray
In a medium saucepan over high heat, bring 2 cups water to a boil. Add the green beans and return to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium; cover, and cook for 20 minutes, or until crisp-tender. Drain, reserving 1 cup liquid and set aside.
Spray the inside of a medium heavy skillet with nonstick vegetable cooking spray and place over medium heat. Add the beans, onions, bell pepper, salt and black pepper. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring often. Stir in the reserved liquid, bouillon and butter-flavored granules; cook for 1 minute longer, then stir in the green onions and basil. Remove from the heat and let stand 5 minutes before serving.
